Our reception staff are happy to answer any questions, here a few regular enquiries that might be useful.

Is the Beach safe for swimming? The beach in front of the property is called Shelly Beach as is a perfect spot for safe swimming. Should stingers be in the area which is very rare all guests will be notified.

Where is the CBD in Hervey Bay? Hervey Bay is quite spread out with shopping centres in a variety of locations. The main centre of town is left on the Esplanade and left at the round about with the large whale statue.

Is there onsite parking for boats? Yes we have onsite parking areas suitable for boats, most of the year we have plenty of parking but please bear in mind that busy seasons can cause the property parking to be maximised. Off street parking is available also.

Are there restaurants close by? The beauty of the Beach Motel is that we are walking distance to some fabulous restaurants in the Bay. Turn left from reception to Santini Italian Restaurant which we highly recommend or keep walking to the Hervey Bay Hotel about 800 metres. There is a multitude of cuisines available on the Esplanade.

Can we store out luggage or leave our car when we tour Fraser Island? Not a problem, bring your luggage to reception before your tour. Please check where to park when leaving your car at the same time.

Can we get assistance booking tours at the hotel? Certainly, our reception staff can advise which tour would suit you, book your tour and organise a free transfer bus to collect you on the day.

Where is the closest bottle shop/hotel? The Hervey Bay Hotel is located left on the Esplanade which also has a bottle shop it is walking distance.

Is the pool heated? Our pool is lovely and secluded within the property, thankfully with the warm weather in Queensland it isn't required to heat the pool.

Can you see the whales from the beach? When it comes to seeing whales unfortunately you cannot see them from the beach, the bay is famous for it's quiet waters where the calves learn to breach. You are best to see them on a cruise.

How large is Fraser Island? Fraser Island, off Australia’s eastern Queensland coast, is the world's largest sand island, stretching over 120 kilometres. It is not possible to tour the island without a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

  • The local bus stop is directly in front of reception.
  • Tour transfer buses collect guests from the beach side of Charlton Esplanade, reception will advise what time.

The policy of the management at the Beach Motel is to take a deposit on the credit card provided when making the booking. If the card has DEBIT written on the front it is actually a savings card and we will take a security deposit on arrival of $100. This is refundable on departure and can take up to 5 business days before the funds are available for use. We recommend if you have a DEBIT card that you bring the security deposit in cash to avoid any inconvenience.
