Food N Groove Fridays 2020

Food ‘n’ Groove Fridays is back in 2020! The event will be held on the first Friday of every month in City Park. You can leave your kitchens behind and let someone else do the cooking for you. There will be stalls that will offer a range regional crafts, gifts and homewares. The event also includes a licensed bar, so adults can enjoy a wine or beer with their dinner under the stars.

Hervey Bay Dunga Derby returns to the Fraser Coast in 2020.

Fraser Coast Dunga Derby 2020

The DUNGA DERBY is a 4 day car rally that will take 55 team vehicles and over 200 people from the Coast to the Country while raising funds to support the local community.

In the lead up to the derby the teams will fundraise with loads of events throughout that time - everything from raffles, barefoot bowls to BBQ’s!  The Fraser Coast will be buzzing with activity and the business community are encouraged to get behind the event, sponsoring teams and their vehicles (the Dungas!)

Funds raised by the Dunga Derby go to the Rally for a Cause Charity that supports families and individuals affected by life-limiting medical conditions or have had their lives disrupted by circumstances beyond their control.

Hervey Bay Whale Festival includes seafood, conservation, live concerts and many more activities

Hervey Bay Whale Festival 2020

There is no other place in the world that compares to the awe-inspiring, soul-stirring, up-close whale watching encounters that you will find in Hervey Bay. Between July and November, thousands of humpback whales travel the ‘humpback highway’ and arrive in the calm, protected waters of Hervey Bay. Unlike any other place along the ‘humpback highway’, the whales will stop and spend up to 10 days resting, socialising and playing before continuing their trip back to the Antarctic for the summer months.

This unique relationship gives reason to celebrate each year with the Hervey Bay Whale Festival. An eclectic event to recognise the importance of the ocean to Hervey Bay and promote the conservation of the marine environment and animals that are unique and important to our region.

The festival kicks off on July 25th with the blessing of the fleet and continues with a calendar of colourful events that includes seafood, conservation, live concerts and more.

Hervey Bay has been announced as the first Whale Heritage Site in the world!

In the pristine waters off Fraser Island Humpbacks aren't just passing through on their way to their breeding grounds - they're actually taking time out to socialise, have some fun, learn some essential lifeskills and nuture their young. Hervey Bay is the whale watching capital of the world with the season from Mid July to the end of September each year.
